Hi Everyone,
When I was a kid I had a color classification system for whether I had a good day. If I had a day that felt "green" it meant that I had a good day because I got to play outside. This was years before the California Rock Band "Green Day" came to fame. We lived in a wooded suburb of Raleigh, North Carolina, and I just felt complete when I was playing in the woods behind our house. I can remember the forts I built, pretending I was a character in "The Last of the Mohicans" or Luke Skywalker on the forests of Endor. When I was a teenager, I would do my homework laying in a hammock and sitting next to a fire I built in my sandbox. I sometimes slept outside on our back deck just to feel the air and to smell the scents of pine needles, mown grass and earth. My name, Adam, comes from the Hebrew word adamah which means "the ground" or "earth" so it seems fitting that those sensations resonate with me.
