The Carousel Bar is New Orleans most famous bar. It is located in the Hotel Monteleone, and it has hosted such greats as Ernest Hemingway and William Faulkner. For this painting, I wanted to emphasize the dreamy nature of the bar, so I used large textured brushstrokes to suggest atmosphere, instead of more detailed brushwork.
