Painting New Orleans Blog

Hi Everyone,

In December of 2021 customers like you helped me to donate $2,682 to support homeless young people at Covenant House in New Orleans. I feel compelled to do another fundraiser for the situation in Ukraine so for the month of March I am donating 20% of my sales of all paintings and prints to UNICEF.

UNICEF provides safe water, sanitation, medical care and hygiene supplies to children and families from Ukraine.

The invasion of Ukraine feels personal to me, my mother's family came to the United States in the early 1900's from Lvov (previously L'viv) in what is now Ukraine. I have been listening to accounts of mothers fleeing the war and using Lvov as a waypoint on their way to Poland. Listening to their stories, I can relate to the sense of uncertainty and worry about what they will come back to since we experienced that with Hurricane Ida last year. I wish I could do more.

On a lighter note, I will be showing at the Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival on March 18th, 19th, and 20th so it would be wonderful to see you there, I hope to have lots of new paintings ready to show like the streetcar painting pictured up top.
