Today I got this letter from my wife,
Dear Adam,
It was ten years ago that you and I first me in the city of New Orleans. On one of our first dates we took a walk on a warm summer evening with the smell of jasmine all around us near Audubon park and discovered the most beautiful flower we had ever seen. A few days later we were packing up our things and leaving the city that had brought us together, not knowing when we would return. Little did we realize just how long it would take us to get back and how much more we would appreciate its simple beauties. Hurrican Katrina brought a lot of devastation to our hearts but out of the darkness bloomed something bright. I've watched your artwork grow from rooms full of paper destruction and frustration to rooms full of colorful images and hope. It's that little bit of hope that keeps us going and hope keeps us in New Orleans. What I see in your artwork-these small glimpses of beauty and joy make me happy to see what has been and what comes next for you, me and New Orleans.
Love You,
Pen
