Hi Everyone,
Back in March when the coronavirus lockdown was just beginning, I asked myself what kind of art I should make when the world was changing so fast. When reading the news, words like grim and stark jumped out at me, and the images used to tell the story of the world's reaction were of antiseptic spaces, or empty streets and shelves. My friends were painting people in masks, but I did not feel like doing that. What I want to do as an artist is create an alternative to the gloom and the disheartenment.
I have started taking walks every morning and the fresh air, oak trees, and flowers have helped me to keep things in perspective. I am now painting flowers and trees to give myself comfort at a time when the outside world seems a bit overwhelming. The nice thing about a painting is that you can inhabit any world you can imagine. For me, paintings that are over-brimming with flowers are a symbol of hope and re-birth. I am trying to capture the fullness of spring not because I am putting my head in the sand, but because these things bring me comfort.
Here are some of the paintings I have created,

On a personal note my family and I are healthy and getting used to staying at home. We have made it through every Marvel movie and every Star Wars movie, and I have learned that I am not at homeschooling. Also, I have extended Free Shipping until the end of May.
Thanks For Reading!
