New Brushes for the New Year and NOLA Retail Stores.

Hi Everyone,
I'm hoping your 2020 has started off well. Usually around this time of year I experiment with a new medium and buy a bunch of art supplies ---only to abandon it later in the year. I typically spend a lot at my local art supply store; last year I experimented with acrylics and the year before that with charcoal. But this year I stuck to oil paints and bought new brushes. For twenty years I have painted with a Filbert brush which is oval- shaped but it leaves a undefined almost messy edge to the brushstroke. I just switched to Flat and Bright brushes which both leave a crisper edge. Maybe you have noticed that my paintings seem a little crisper and more clearly defined. The new brushes are the reason why.
If you would like to take a closer look, you should check out some of my new work in person. Although you can find me at outdoor Arts Markets or schedule a studio visit, there are many locations in the city of New Orleans that show my artwork. I highly recommend stopping by these businesses listed below.
The premier gift shop in the heart of the French Quarter. 606 and 700 Royal Street, French Quarter www.shopforeverneworleans.com (504)-510-4813
A spacious store showroom with Furniture and Home Décor- 3413N Causeway Blvd, Metairie Furnishnola.com (504)-702-8514
A NOLA gift store with a huge selection of my original paintings as well as prints and notecards- 4432 Magazine St, Uptown New Orleans Bywaterclothing.com (504)-502-6206
A retail store featuring work from 150 plus Southern Makers. 4610 Magazine Street, Uptown New Orleans Homemalonenola.com (504)-766-6148
Fun Fact: All of these businesses are women owned, with a friendly and helpful staff.
Thanks for reading And Happy New Year! |
