Hi Everyone,
I wanted to share the reasoning for donating 20% of my original painting sales to Covenant House for the month of December. I don't think I am particularly selfless or generous. The truth is- I am donating to do something good in a year where I felt pretty powerless. I really believed 2021 would be easier than 2020, but the pandemic has been just as disruptive this year as last year. Closer to home, we lost our first cat to a two-year struggle with cancer this year, and we are still recovering from Hurricane Ida. All of these things led to difficult conversations with my young son, where I told him I just wished that the world was better.
I was indeed 'powerless in these situations, unable to make things better. So for me it's important to do something good in 2021, something that makes a difference. I know that I create paintings that people appreciate, and that Covenant House really does help the most vulnerable. I've raised over $1,300 so far. If you are on the fence about purchasing a painting, I urge you to do it before the end of the year and help me do some good in 2021.
Thanks for reading, and I wish you a safe and happy holidays,
